Clinical Study - Pain

Therapeutic Efficacy of Extracorporeal Magnetic Therapy in Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome

Objective: A physical therapy, with extracorporeal magnetic innervation (ExMi) treatment, has recently substituted direct electrical stimulation for the treatment of many diseases. The efficacy of ExMi treatment was evaluated as a new therapeutic modality in chronic pelvic pain syndrome.

Conclusion: These results suggest that ExMi is an effective and useful tool in the management of chronic pelvic pain syndrome. In chronic pelvic pain syndrome patients, ExMi treatment has advantages over other treatment options due to its easy, comfortable, non-invasive nature.

Clinical Efficacy of Extracorporeal Magnetic Innervation for Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome

Objective: Chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS) commonly occurs in men, but the pathophysiology and treatment are not clearly defined. The clinical efficacy of extracorporeal magnetic innervation (ExMI) was examined.

Materials and Methods: A prospective study of 14 patients with CPPS was performed between January 2002 and June 2002. All patients were treated with ExMI for 4 weeks.

Conclusion: ExMI is effective in the treatment of CPPS. However, further study and long-term follow-up are needed before clinical application.
